How to disable 'ISBMgr.exe'

After installing Windows 7 on my VAIO system, an unexpected error message appeared:

The installed battery may not be properly connected to the computer or may not be compatible with the computer. Click "OK" to enter Hibernate mode, and remove and reinsert the battery.

Through a brief search, I found this error occurs due to the file "ISBMgr.exe" -- the Sony Battery Utility. (This error message appeared even if a genuine Sony battery was installed.)

You can disable "ISBMgr.exe" by removing the registry entry related to this file:

1) Go to Start > Run and then enter "regedit.exe" to open the registry editor.

2) Delete the registry entries related to ISBMgr.exe.

  • [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
  •  [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
  •  [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]

Or, you can also disable "ISBMgr.exe" in the System Configuration Utility:
